The Volkswagen Amarok is a pickup truck created by German Automaker Volkswagen in 2010. It is the first pickup designed by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and generated a substantial buzz in 2005 when it was first announced. It has since received a four-star rating from the Euro NCAP for its high-performance crash-testing effectiveness under the 2010/2011 standard test crashing procedure. Its later models haven’t dropped below these standards. The VW Amarok has been awarded the 2020 Pickup of the Year by What Car?, and it is considered to be a successful rival against the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux in Europe.
There are three model lines: base, Trendline and Highline. The base version comes with 16-inch steel wheels, height-adjustable front seats, adjustable rear bench seats, a lockable glove box, and manual window regulators, door locking and mirror adjustment.
The Trendline Trim is upgraded to 17-inch aluminium wheels, electrically operated door locking, windows and wing mirror adjustment, and a radio equipped with a CD player, climate control, a multi-functional display option, and cruise control. The front headlights are upgraded with fog lights. Instead of the standard black paint, the bumper, door handles and wing mirrors are painted the same colour as the body.
The Highline Trim is more stylishly design with chrome stripes on the radiator grille and around the fog lights. Complete with 18-inch aluminium wheels, a chrome rear bumper bar, and leatherette/leather fabric on the interior, this model is more equipped for luxury off-roading. Each model is complete with 8-speed automatic transition and the 4x4 models are finished off with a “6-cyl. turbo diesel engine 3.0 l/165 kW V6.”
Since its debut in 2010, the Volkswagen Amarok has evolved to become a more powerful, stylish and comparable machine alongside its competitors. In 2016, Volkswagen updated the Amarok’s design for more visibility, spaciousness and comfort. They designed an entirely new, modern front and rear end, and a dynamic interior with a new dashboard, multifunctional steering wheel and new “infotainment system.”
When you find this high-powered and rugged machine on a used car pitch, it is best not to pass it up when it matches its competitors nearly every step of the way.
