Perhaps you’re a great communicator and enjoy problem solving.
Or are you looking for a very varied role, where no two days are the same?
If this sounds like you, then an apprentice Service Advisor role could be perfect for you. Service Advisors are the interface between the technicians in the workshop and the customers whose cars they work on. As a Service Advisor you’re responsible for booking in the customer’s car, providing them with a courtesy car, if that’s been requested, and ensuring that if there are any issues the customer wants investigating, that they’re noted for the technicians to see.
The Service Advisor then keeps the customer updated throughout the time their car or van is in the workshop, if any defects are found which need attention, it’s the Service Advisor’s job to let the customer know and advise them of the cost.
When the car or van is ready to be collected, the Service Advisor explains the work that’s been completed and goes through the invoice, explaining it line by line to the customer.
Sophie Simmonds is an Apprentice Service Advisor at Stoke Audi, she’s already shown how professional she is scoring 100% in an Audi mystery shop. Here’s what she enjoys about her apprenticeship;
“I enjoy the challenge of the job and the wide variety of customers that we see day to day. I’ve had such a lot of support from the team here; after just 2 weeks I was encouraged to service my own car, so I could find out exactly what happens in a service, to learn my way round a car and I’ve found it really helpful.
“On a day to day basis what motivates me is the positive feedback from customers that we receive as a dealership and feeling of being part of a team which pulls together to support each other”.
