Introducing the first electric hybrid from BYD, meet the SEAL U DM-i. After the success of the similarly named Saloon model, the BYD SEAL, all eyes are on this hybrid eco-friendly PHEV SUV.
The BYD SEAL U DM-i has been designed to perfectly fit into family life, with a practical interior, stylish design, and affordable price point.
Available with either the front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive system, the new BYD SEAL U DM-i has a pure electric range of up to 50 miles resulting in a combined range of up to 671 miles. This energy efficient, economical SUV is not only great for the environment but provides an exhilarating and responsive driving experience with a 0-62 mph sprint achieved in just 5.9 seconds with the all-wheel drive system.
BYD SEAL U DM-i Exterior Design
Similarly to the BYD SEAL model, the SEAL U DM-I takes design inspiration from the ocean. With futurist touches, the oceanic aesthetics result in a visually striking car with interesting features and design choices.
Double U-shaped headlights with staggered clusters create an impactful impression and provide a powerful main beam, resulting in increased visibility and additional safety. The rear has been designed with elegance at the centre, this is epitomised by the water drop matrix pattern inside the continuous taillight.
19” aerodynamic alloy wheels come as standard with the BYD SEAL U DM-i, they are the perfect blend of style and efficiency. The alloys enhance the car’s aesthetics and complement the variety of exterior colour choices.
BYD SEAL U DM-i Interior Design
The interior of the SEAL U DM-i is a luxurious, yet practical place to be. A key focal point is the crystal gear leaver, having taken inspiration from the ocean, displays opulence and provides a premium feel. The front integrated multifunctional seats have heating and ventilating capabilities adding a level of luxury. There is also full electronic adjustment and memory function.
Another highlight is the large sliding panoramic glass sunroof which allows ample light and air to enter the car. This creates a connection to the exterior environment which is a key feature across the BYD range.
The rear seats are a spacious and comfortable place to be, with a fully flat floor increasing the legroom. Storage has also been taken care of with a double-layer storage solution in the front cabin and a generous boot space with 425 litres of capacity. This can then be increased to 1,440 litres by folding the rear seats.
BYD SEAL U DM-i Entertainment
At the centre of the dashboard is a large, rotatable touchscreen that controls the in-car entertainment and infotainment. The user experience has been enhanced by the incorporation of intelligent voice control which seamlessly works alongside the multifunctional features ensuring an enjoyable driving experience.
A head-up has been included in the specification which displays crucial information onto the windscreen. Working alongside the digital display behind the steering wheel, the driver can gain a greater awareness without taking their eyes off the road.
High-quality audio has been ensured by innovative speakers and ambient lighting has been designed to synchronize with the audio to create an immersive listening experience.
BYD SEAL U DM-i Technology
As the first hybrid BYD to reach the UK, the SEAL U DM-i had to make an impression. The name of the vehicle indicates the level of technology taken to create such a car. BYD Super DM (Dual Motor) technology is a game changer in the hybrid sector offering low fuel consumption and additional performance. Intelligence has also been incorporated as the model embodies an energy-efficient driving principle.
The BYD SEAL U DM-I also has fast charging capabilities thanks to the 18 kW DC rapid charging feature. This results in 30% to 80% charge being achieved in just 35 minutes. This swift charging style creates a stress-free journey allowing you to spend more time on the road.
