Car dealer group Swansway as kicked off its festive mission to bring smiles to children and families across the UK. For the 10th Christmas in a row, the motor group have worked with their well-established charity partners on Swansway Santa Patrol, donating Christmas gifts to those in need.
Items donated have ranged from toys for babies, children and teens, to Christmas food supplies, and warm winter clothing.
Working alongside Homestart [Birmingham], The Wish Centre [Blackburn] BACKUP North West, Bolton Lions, Endeavour Project, Fortalice, St Peter and St Paul’s RC Primary School [Bolton], Cumbria Family Support [Carlisle], Kidsbank Chester, The Wingate Centre and The Wishing Well [Crewe], Nugent [Liverpool], Reach out the Community and St Herbert’s RC Primary School [Oldham], The Foxton Centre [Preston], Staffordshire Women’s Aid [Stafford], The Gingerbread Centre [Stoke], Family Friends [Wrexham] and Homestart-HOST [Bolton, Oldham and Stockport].
As part of Swansway’s continued efforts to support their charity partners with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, the car dealer group has tailored its donations to each charity's specific needs, liaising directly with their charity partners to create bespoke donations.
Alongside their Santa Patrol, Swansway also hosted their very own Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 8th December in support of causes selected by each dealership team. Many of these causes saw a crossover with Swansway’s charity partners. Dealerships such as Stoke Audi supported The Gingerbread Centre, whilst Motor Match Bolton supported Fortalice and Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham donating to Family Friends.
Jan Melia, Head of Strategic Partnerships at The Wishing Well commented; “Our long-standing partnership with Swansway is incredibly important to Wishing Well. Your kind donation of toys at Christmas means we can achieve great things and are able to distribute gifts to families who access our services. Thank you for your continued support. Together we make a difference.”
Sandra Crompton from the Bolton Lions Club added;
“The members and volunteers of Bolton Lions Club wish to say a massive thank you to Swansway for the generous donation of toys to this year's Christmas Toy Appeal, over 150 in total. This will help us to support over 910 Bolton families and will bring many smiles to many children.”
Swansway Motor Group Director David Smyth summarised;
“Christmas should be a time of joy and celebration for everyone, no matter what your circumstances may be. Our Swansway Santa Patrol aims to spread some Christmas magic to those children and families who need it the most. From the Swansway Family to yours, we wish all a Merry Christmas.”
Swansway’s Santa Patrol rounds up Swansway Motor Group’s charity investment in 2023 to a close, seeing the group donate almost £80K to a range of charitable causes. From donations to foodbanks to supporting their team members with their fundraising and partnering with four community foundations across the country.
David Smyth continued;
“It’s important to us all at Swansway that we are active within the communities that have welcomed and supported us over the last 20 years, and 2023 has been no exception. This year we have further strengthened relationships with existing charity partners, whilst also building new ones and we look forward to continuing our work in 2024.”
