Have you been bitten by the SUV bug?
They’re fast becoming the most popular cars on the road and it’s not difficult to see why. Our range of VW SUVs are sure to impress. Choose from T-Cross, Taigo, T-Roc, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace, Touareg.
Fancy a new SUV? Well there is no end of options you can consider, as this segment has grown hugely in recent years. But it’s hard not to go with Volkswagen, which has one of the largest ranges of SUVs of any manufacturer. Bringing all of the attributes this firm is known for – style, quality and technology – the range of VW SUVs only continues to grow.
Volkswagen T-Cross
Volkswagen’s most affordable SUV is the T-Cross, and despite being its most compact model in this respect, the T-Cross still provides plenty of interior space – with decent rear seat room and a large boot. Some versions also come with cool sliding rear seats to maximise practicality.
Based on the Polo, this smart-looking SUV brings together the excellent handling of a hatchback, with the added storage space and comfort of an SUV. All models also come with plenty of standard equipment. With an attractive exterior design and imaginative interior, the T-Cross is a great addition to Volkswagen’s SUV range.
Volkswagen Tiago
The latest entry to Volkswagen’s SUV range, the Taigo slots between the T-Cross and T-Roc in the line-up, with its styling inspired by Volkswagen’s larger models.
The stand-out feature with the Taigo is its design, as it’s one of Volkswagen’s first coupe-styled SUVs, bringing a sleeker design than a conventional boxy model of this segment. A full-width LED rear light bar also helps to give this VW a wider presence, and really makes it stand out on the road.
It drives well too, handling more like a hatchback than an SUV, while the cabin will be very familiar to any current Volkswagen owner, with a great seating position, high-quality materials and plenty of technology meaning the Taigo has a great interior.
Volkswagen T-Roc
One of Volkswagen’s boldest-looking SUVs, the T-Roc is a very funky choice, with its bold styling really standing out in the crossover market. Volkswagen has also recently updated its look – giving it a sportier and more aggressive appearance, as well as LED lights front and rear as standard.
It’s also very roomy by class standards, while the recent update means the T-Roc now has a more premium-feeling interior than it ever used to have in the past. A large digital dial screen and touchscreen are both fitted across the range too.
There’s a huge range of choice on offer too, including when it comes to engines and also trim levels. A T-Roc R version brings particularly sporty looks and performance to the range, while a stylish Cabriolet model brings top-down thrills to the SUV range – and is a true one-of-a-kind model.
Volkswagen Tiguan
Volkswagen’s most popular SUV is ideal for pretty much anything you can throw at it, and it’s a hugely popular choice with families – who value its impressive spaciousness and high-quality interior.
The Tiguan is also a very stylish design, with its sharp LED lights and angular look, which is only improved by choosing the sporty-looking R-Line version – adding a more aggressive body kit. The style carries through to the interior, with the Tiguan getting one of the best-finished interiors of any car in its segment.
Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system is also available across much of the range, adding extra capability, while a plug-in hybrid model has recently joined the range – offering an electric range of up to 29 miles.
Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace
If you like the Tiguan, but want even more room, take a look at the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace – a model that certainly lives up to its name! Essentially a lengthened version of the standard car, the Allspace gets the added benefit of seven seats as standard – the only Volkswagen SUV to do so. Offering a huge amount of room for passengers and a big boot, it’s an ideal option as a large family SUV.
It retains all the same benefits as the standard Tiguan though – not least the upmarket interior, which comes with plenty of equipment – including climate control, digital dials and an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone mirroring.
A great range of petrol and diesel engines are on offer too, with the latter units being particularly good on fuel.
Volkswagen Touareg
Volkswagen’s largest and most luxurious SUV is the Touareg, a direct rival to upmarket models like the Audi Q7 and BMW X5, if at a more affordable price.
The Touraeg was a pioneer for technology when it launched, and it continues to come with a range of impressive features – not least its huge touchscreen and clever Matrix LED headlights that are able to filter light around oncoming traffic to maximise vision. All versions get loads of kit too, not least adaptive cruise control, ‘gesture control’ for the media system and heated front seats.
Powerful six-cylinder engines are another of the Touareg’s greatest strengths, while you can now have an ‘R’ version, which uses a powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain that offers up to 29 miles on electricity, along with a 0-60mph time of less than five seconds.
