Volkswagen have just announced the World Premier of the brand-new Volkswagen California! The new model is set to revolutionize the travel experience, with more flexibility and an improved design creating a smarter, spacious and more sophisticated California.
The brand-new Volkswagen California is set to hit the market in June 2024, it will be based on the long version of the Multivan platform which is a first for the Cali range. The New California redefines camper van functionality and style, promising a unique blend of sophistication, comfort, and groundbreaking technology.
Volkswagen California Updates
The New California encapsulates variety and customization with five distinct versions: Beach, Beach Tour, Beach Camper, Coast, and Ocean. Each model is designed to cater to a diverse range of lifestyle and travel aspirations, showcasing unique features and functionalities tailored to specific needs. Whether it's versatile seating and sleeping arrangements, or individualized style preferences, the New California offers a solution.
Striking design elements distinguish the New California, including sliding doors on both sides for enhanced accessibility and a pop-up roof - merging practicality and style. A range of alloy wheel options and the exotic two-tone paint finish option ensures your California mirrors your distinct personality and style.
Volkswagen California Engines
The updated model will be Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle's first camper van to feature a plug-in hybrid drive and an all-wheel drive system. This allows the New California to drive on pure electric for short distances, which is perfect for everyday use.
The New California will also be available with a Petrol or Diesel engine, both of which work alongside the automatic direct shift gearbox.
Volkswagen California Interior
Volkswagen have created a new three-zone concept inside the Volkswagen California. This is thanks to the two sliding doors which create two exterior terraces, offering a seamless integration with the surrounding environment.
The main zone is the living area, the front seats can rotate 180 degrees which creates a communal space with face-to-face seating for shared mealtimes or games. Sliding doors on both sides maximizes space and allows for the small kitchen, located on the driver’s side, to be accessible from both the inside and exterior of the California.
The pop-up roof also creates additional space, offering a maximum headspace of 2,108 mm.
The New Volkswagen California is more than a camper van, is a statement, an expression of freedom, and a celebration of the adventuring spirit. Orders for the Brand-New VW California will start in June 2024, with first deliveries expected to take place in the second half of this year.
