Audi has upped its hybrid offerings across the range
Now, there are all manner of hybrid-powered models to choose from which bring a great blend of performance and efficiency. Plus, there’s the opportunity to drive on electric-only power for many miles, furthering cost-savings even more.
So what do you need to know about Audi’s range of hybrids and what does each one offer? Let’s take a look at the range.
A3 Sportback TFSI e
It’s in the A3 Sportback that you’ll find Audi’s hybrid range kicking off. It uses a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is then linked to an electric motor and batteries for excellent efficiency levels. In fact, keep the battery topped up and Audi says you could see over 235 mpg.
Plus, Audi says that you’ll be able to travel for up to 40 miles on electric power alone, making this a great option for drivers with shorter commutes or who frequently do more compact trips close to home.
A6 Saloon TFSI e and A6 Avant TFSI e
It’s the ever-popular A6 that comes next on the hybrid list. Available in both saloon and estate layouts, the A6 feels like a perfect car for hybridisation as it’s large, comfortable and definitely benefits from some added efficiency.
It uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with hybrid assistance and, thanks to some recent refinements, can deliver up to 40 miles of electric-only driving power.
A7 Sportback TFSI e
The luxurious and sporty A7 Sportback is the next on our list. Much the same as the A6, it uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is then hooked up to an electric motor and battery. Audi says that you should get up to 41 miles of zero-emissions driving, too.
You could get up to 362bhp on the most powerful hybrid A7 models, too, meaning that there’s plenty of performance to go alongside that efficiency.
A8 TFSI e and A8 L TFSI e
Audi’s luxury limo A8 is also available with a hybrid powertrain. The whisper-quiet nature of electric-only driving really suits the character of the refined A8, too, with both driver and passengers able to enjoy a really silent experience when on the move.
You can also get this hybrid powertrain on the long-wheelbase A8 L if you’re after even more space.
Q3 TFSI e and Q3 Sportback TFSI e
Kicking off Audi’s range of hybrid SUVs is the Q3 TFSI e. It may be one of the smaller SUVs in the line-up, but it packs a big punch. Much like the A3 Sportback, the Q3 hybrid uses a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and hybrid setup that is capable of returning up to 31 miles on electric-only power.
You can also get it in sleek-looking Sportback form for those drivers who want a stronger visual impact.
Q5 TFSI e and Q5 Sportback TFSI e
Next, we have the Audi Q5 TFSI e. Much like the Q3, you can get it in both SUV and Sportback body styles, but both are accompanied by a fully electric range of up to 37 miles.
With just under 300 bhp it’s surprisingly powerful, too, while boot space stands at a still-respectable 465 litres, down on the regular car’s 550-litre boot.
Q7 SUV TFSI e
The largest SUV in Audi’s range is also now available with the benefits of a plug-in hybrid. This powerful seven seater combines luxurious driving and passenger comfort, making it a joy to drive.
The Audi Q7 TFSI e can achieve up to 52 miles of range using just electricity making it the perfect money saver for short journeys. This is made possible by the impressive combined power of up to 394 PS.
Q8 SUV TFSI e
Finally, we have the luxurious Audi Q8 TFSI e. The flagship Audi SUV model now combines the electric powertrain with the V6 internal combustion engine. The electric range is up to 51 miles with a power output up to 394 PS.
The 0-62 mph acceleration is impressive at just 5.7 seconds making this a very quick SUV!
