Exclusive and sporty interior
Take a seat inside the new R8 and relax into super sports seats with fine Nappa leather upholstery. A 3-spoke flat bottomed sports leather steering wheel with multifunction plus and two control assistant programmes gives you full control.
Upgrade to the V10 Performance RWD Edition and you'll get enhanced interior specifications, including carbon fibre upper inlays surrounding the air vents, sporty diamond-stitched front seats and a high-performance Bang and Olufsen sound system.
Emotional design
As with the Coupé, the newest R8 Spyder is lighter, flatter and more muscular in appearance than its predecessor. Add to this wheel arches that exude power, flattened grooves over the single frame, end-to-end air vent grilles at the rear, gloss-black 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and oval exhaust tailpipes and you've got one seriously dynamic vehicle.
The Spyder version of the Audi R8 comes with a fold down roof, and you'll really want to experience this car with the roof down. An electrohydraulic drive folds the hood under a carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer lid at the touch of a button, all in just 20 seconds at speeds up to 30mph, and if you need it back up again simply push the button again. You'll also notice it's just as easy to retract and extend the rear wind deflector, perfect for if the wind and road noise are getting a bit much.
Beauty and brains
You'll find the R8 Spyder well equipped with a 12.3-inch high resolution Audi Virtual Cockpit and MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch, which can recognise your handwriting giving you the ability to input characters, scroll and zoom with your fingers. Or if you prefer you can always use the voice control system.
Driver assistance technologies also include Parking System Plus front and rear, a rear-view camera and Advanced key all work together to make your journeys smooth.

The heart of the vehicle - the V10 engine
Located directly behind the passenger compartment, the naturally aspirated V10 mid-engine has a low centre of gravity, so you'll have a balanced weight distribution when driving enabling high speeds even when cornering. The power steering gives you added contact with the road to really enjoy the feel of the drive.
The 5.2L FSI engine generated 570 PS in the V10 Performance RWD or up to 620 PS in the V10 Performance quattro, which can go from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.
